A must read, a fine checklist. Pass it around at the office :) 1. Be patient. No matter what. 2. Don’t badmouth: Assign responsibility, not blame. Say nothing of another you wouldn’t say to him or her. 3. Never assume the motives of others are, to them, less noble than yours are to you. 4. Expand your sense of the possible. 5. Don’t trouble yourself with matters you truly cannot change. 6. Expect no more of anyone than you can deliver yourself. 7. Tolerate ambiguity. 8. Laugh at yourself frequently. 9. Advice for Writers Struggling for Ideas and Inspiration

To anyone who is struggling still with WHAT to write, or feeling lost, a suggestion: Invest your writing time today (best if you can when fresh) to write about what you're writing about - or the struggle. Like, a journal entry - just your thoughts. Get it all out -- if it's bad stuff, expunge your fears, your boredom with the topic etc.. get it out of you and try to end the entry coming full circle encouraging yourself. Photo by Rochelle Joseph If you don't know what you're writing, then journal/blog about places, things, people that have fascinated you and see if even a short story or something is in there. Look through Google images, Wikipedia, to find something that captured your imagination, and sparks an idea. Think of your top 3 fave books/movies - what was it about them that engaged you? If so, writing something like that (genre, character, location) can engage you for 30 days... Having a hard time going from work to writing? Find MUSIC that you can play
